Hi, I’m Andrew
The owner, founder, and your support person here at Disability Support and Management Services.
I’m here to support you in any way I can with personalised and individualised support.
I encourage laughter and having fun while doing what you enjoy.
I’ll help you achieve and maximise your goals as stated on your NDIS Plan.
Are you plan-managed?
Are you self-managed?
Are you privately funded? I’ll help you make goals and a plan.
I’ll make your life as stress less as I can.
I care about you
After having worked in the disability sector for over 20 years.
I’ve been around the block a bit.
I’ve seen the frustration, and that overwhelmed feeling people face when trying to navigate the system.
And more importantly, trying to find the right help for them or their family member.
Are you trying to make sense of the oodles of paperwork that’s involved?
And trying to get the answer to a simple question has never been more challenging.
Every time you’re dealing with a different person.
But not anymore.
When you work with me, you work with me from the start, middle, and end.
I’ll be the one:
That picks up the phone when you call
Comes to your home to meet with you
Teeing up the best services to meet your needs
Taking you to and from appointments
Helping you with your day to day activities
Providing you and your family with emotional support and care
Plus so much more; Lets talk about it!
You’re dealing with a fully-fledged Hobart business
I’m a Hobart resident, and I love this state. And after having lived and worked across Australia, I am happy to call Tasmania home. I am also pleased to say that my children live locally and intend to raise their families in Tasmania.
I am living now on Hobart’s sunny (or so they say) eastern shore, and therefore I am aware of the available services to assist you in this great state.
I’ve worked in many areas of the disability and health sectors. Including:
Education and specialist schools
Specialist training and mentoring roles
Specialised communication settings
Specialised behavioural settings
Training and support can be provided either in a personalised and tailored one on one situation between us or with a provider chosen by you.
Or I can arrange for you to attend a group activity if that meets your needs better.
What I bring to the table
There are many benefits to working with me.
First Aid Certificate
Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessor
Augmentative and Alternative Communication Training
Community Services training
Business and Leadership training
Bachelor of Health Sciences at Deakin University – ongoing but almost done.
And on a personal note… I love dogs, especially my 2 rabbits and my Bernese Mountain dog that I am giving my wife for Christmas (she wishes). I’m a bit of a history and geography buff. And have a love for trains, planes, and gaming.
Recently my partner and I changed our NDIS plans over to plan managed, and as a result, my partner decided to sign up with Andrew, and as a result of his work for her, I soon signed up with him myself as I was impressed with how quickly he managed to get issues and outstanding business sorted out for her in such a short time.
Some of these issues stemmed from her previous NDIS Plan that was meant to be sorted out by her so-called support coordinator, which over a twelve-month period never got done.
It is amazing how Andrew was able to deal with these issues in such a short time period and have all of them finally resolved for her, which has taken a lot of stress and pressure off her.
In even less time Andrew has sorted out some things for me which have been hanging over my head since my previous plan, and it is a relief to have these things finalized in such a short time frame.
Now we both feel that we can move forward with our lives and forget about the lack of support from others who said they were here for us however it seemed that they were here for their own benefit.
